Text Messages: Does the Guy Like me or Not?

love text messages

When I send a text message to a guy and I don’t get a response until 5 plus hours later does that kinda mean rejection or disinterest on his part? It’s not the first time it’s happened. Sometimes I don’t get a response until days later. I’ve been thinking that he’s expressing disinterest… just wanna confirm it with all the men out there. Thanks.

Good question. Perhaps.More than likely however, if a guy is not interested in you, he will just ignore your text messages all together, just like a lot of girls do. For example, say you go on a first date with someone. Your not sure how the other person feels, so instead of calling them you text them “hey how is everything” with the purpose of testing the water. If you do not get a reply. Your text simply goes ignored, then you then know the other person is not interested in going on another date, or even talking to you any further for that matter.

Since your at least getting a reply, there probably is some interest their, its just not intense passionate interest. I know what your getting at though, if he was genuinely interested in you, he would reply back right away since he since he would be excited about talking to you, and because he really likes you. Your right to some degree. If a guy is passionatly in love with someone, and that someone contacts him, your damn right they get a reply back as soon as the man gets the text. Why? Because she is a priority to him. Just like  the way a girl behaves when interested in a guy, if a man is very interested in you, he will be looking out for your text messages or emails or phone calls. He will consciously have his phone on him more than he normally does in anticipation of you contacting him. Particularly when a relationship is new, and your dating someone you really like. That kind of feeling is rare however, sort of like love at first sight. Most of the time, it takes men time to have these feelings and desires for you, at least deeper feelings than surface level attraction. So while today he may not have that passionate interest in you, over time he might though. That’s what dating is all about. People can and do become more attractive over time. When and if he develops stronger feelings you will notice a quicker response. Read More…

Battle of the Sexs: Why Men are more Like Women

men are like women

Battle of the sexes, men vs women, guys vs girls. The two sides have slugged it out; but is there a victor? Can there finally be an end in store for us? So that maybe, just maybe, the cliche phrase ”battle of the sexes” can be vanquished from the English lexicon forever? Well,  in a Time Magazine special, “The State of Women”, Time has officially declared the war a tie. Yes a tie. How anti-climatic. So unfortunately for me, I will be forced to continue to use the phrase Battle of the Sexes:

Its no longer a man’s world…nor is it a woman’s nation. It is a cooperative, with bylaws under constant negotiation, and expectations that profits be shared equally

But wait! How can a war, if it was indeed that, be a tie? In a war, their are winners and losers. The concept of ”its a tie” with respect to war, is as out of place as polyamory is to marriage.  Tie’s only happens in games like Football, or Chess (stalemate, I win..oh wait, were both winners or are we both losers?). In a war, regardless of the outcome of a battle, the winner is always the side who’s attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors come to dominate the postwar landscape, and by this measure, Super Awesome Dating is  declaring the Battle of the Sexes to be won by women. Sorry guys. Read More…

Dating First Impressions: A Man’s View

first impression Dating First Impressions: A Mans View

Time for some tough love. Like it or not girls, a man is always judging you based on how you look, how you act, how you carry yourself, how your dressed, if you smile, if your too tall, if your to fat, to old, or if your wow just right. Like the old saying goes, “you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression”.  Now is this fair or is it right? It does not matter, it is what it is. I know your saying,  a real man should  love you for you and not the way you look. What if something happened to you, what if you got hurt and your physical appearance changed, or what happens when you age? Under this logic will he eventaully leave you right?

No, and your missing the point. Love is loyalty to a man. A real man will be very loyal to you no matter what once he falls in love with you. For men,  first comes the physical attraction which in large part is based the first impression you make, is why it is very important to not screw it up.  Then follows the period of  time to get to know each other, upon which, if your the right girl for him, he will love and appreciate  you for you: like your hopes and dreams, your ambitions, family values and all the more important deeper things that make simply dating someone into having a relationship with someone. I once remember a telling quote from Donald Trump’s then girlfriend model Melania Knauss when asked, “can’t it be said that you wouldn’t be dating Donald if he wasn’t rich” upon which she replied

and can’t it be said that he would not be dating me if I was not so beautiful?

Smart woman. It is true that her being a model obviously helps, and him being a billionaire helps, but I suspect Melania likes Trump for his power and ambition more than his money, his money is just a by product of his ambition, and he chooses to be with her because not only is she a model, but that she is smart and has her own life and career independent of Donald Trump. If she had too, she could make it on her own just fine, and Trump knows and respects that, as would any man.

First impressions are critical for guys, they help the guy determine in his mind weather or not he will approach you. Lets blast through some images now to show some examples and get some constructive feedback: Read More…

Does Attractiveness correlate to being taken seriously?

taken seriously

Question time, and it is an interesting one from “Liz”. Shes talking about online dating and the messages she receives. She is wondering if a guy thinks a girl is cute, does it matter what she writes ONher profile, and if so, does what  a less aesthetically appealing girl writes carry more weight? Her question:

Do guys see a girl they deem attractive and ignore the things they write in their profiles, while taking the things a less attractive girl writes more seriously?

In the messages I receive that start with some comment on my looks, there is almost always some comment made regarding my profile completely out of context. Like they decided I didn’t really mean what I wrote, it was meant to be a joke, or they just really didn’t read it to begin with.

If it wasn’t so darn consistent, I wouldn’t wonder so much about it. But it seems to be a trend in behavior that makes me go “hmm”.

So guys, if you find a woman especially attractive, do you overlook the rest of her profile? Or if she is average in looks, does that make her profile statements more important? Read More…

Zoosk is Killin it, but is friending & Dating a killer Idea?

zoosk friends with benefits

Zoosk at first was a Facebook app, but now its a full fledged site of its own at it is killing it; but I have to admit, Zoosk confuses me.  Zoosk is all about web 2.0, mixing your social network with your “other” social dating network that you probobly don’t talk about. Basically Zoosk allows your Facebook friends to be active participants in your love life, from the highs of meeting someone new, to the crushing blow of being dumbed. All with your Facebook friends their each step of the way. What a fantastic idea…

I like the idea of social dating, (me and my friends go out with you and your friends) but  Facebook friends having a say in my dating life is a god awful idea. Regardless of privacy concerns, and measuring the cost of not sharing; friends know things. Personal things, about you. Things you may not want a new  boyfriends or girlfriends to know, since all new relationships invole a little bit of white lying at first. Read More…
